Express PCB Custom Components

 

ExpressPCB is a company that provides free software that can be used to create low-cost printed circuit boards.  A schematic editor allows you to create a circuit schematic.  A PCB editor allows you to lay out the components and link the pads to the schematic (linking is done via Part ID, or reference (e.g. C1, U1)).  Many common components are included and custom components can be created.  I have built several PCBs through them and I am making the components I have created available here.  If your design fits on their 2.5x3.8” MiniBoard you can get a set of three boards built for about $50 (U.S.).

To download a component, in your web browser right click the file name and select “Save As”.   To find the directory where your custom components are stored, in ExpressSCH or Express PCB select View -> Options… -> Misc .  Note that some components have more than one schematic symbol which allows the part to be conveniently split in the schematics.  Give both parts the same “Part ID” and they will link correctly to the PCB.
